Reaching Students for Christ, Equipping Students to Serve

Friends of Samford RUF,

Hello from Denver! I’m out here for a week of RUF training with other campus ministers from around the country. Last week we finished a great semester with our Christmas HymnSing on Tuesday and with students spending most of Friday afternoon in our living room and kitchen, watching Christmas movies and eating chili. There’s so much to celebrate as we wrap up 2025, and so much to anticipate as we look forward to 2026!

God’s at work, in and through and despite us, which keeps me humble and hopeful in the midst of the beauty and messiness of ministry and life. Looking back, I see a semester of highs and lows, joys and challenges, “wins” and loose ends. I see situations and stories where Jesus seems to obviously be present and active, and others where I can’t see what He’s up to. I see some seeds of his kingdom sprouting into new life, some blossoming into beautiful fruit, and some remaining below the surface. All of which keeps me right where I need be - dependent on God’s grace, resting in God’s promises, and grateful for God’s unwavering love. Thank you for being in this with me.

Our Christmas HymnSing on Tuesday night was amazing. A full house and a full night, singing older and newer Christmas hymns, reading Scripture, and reflecting on the good news that Jesus is Emmanuel “God with us” not only in a painless future but also in the painful present.

Singing together at Friendsgiving in November.

Good food and fellowship time at Friendsgiving before Thanksgiving break.

There’s still time to double your gift through our matching grant!

THANK YOU to those who have given so far, either for the first time or as an extra donation. You’re helping us begin the next year on a strong footing with more scholarships to give, more meals to buy, more books to hand out, etc.

As a reminder, your donation will be doubled (up to a total of $10,000) if you are giving for the first time, giving for the first time in over two years, giving above your recurring gift amount, or giving above your annual gift total for the last two years.

Merry Christmas from the Griffiths! THANK YOU for your prayers, your partnership in the Gospel, and your support.
