Reaching Students for Christ, Equipping Students to Serve
Friends of Samford RUF,
It’s been a full, fruitful, and fun few weeks! I’m trying to downshift from a 100 meter sprint pace to more of an 800 meter run pace, and sometimes that works out. A lot of life happens very quickly in the college years, and it’s a privilege to walk with students through it. Jesus is building his church, He is pursuing these students with his grace, and He is at work through their joys and sufferings to bring them to Himself. Keep joining me in praying for this!
Here’s a little window into the last few weeks…
Fall Retreat at Alpine Camp in Mentone, AL! We spent Friday-Sunday together, and it was an amazing weekend. Britton Wood was our speaker for four large group sessions, and the rest of the time was spent around a fire pit, playing dodgeball, hiking through the woods, or rocking on chairs on the front porch.
Fall Retreat front porch time. We brought 80 students, and a great group of freshmen! These times are so important for spiritual formation, group development, and simply having a weekend to rest and get away from campus.

Our intern Joy is mastering the art of watercoloring - and the art of creating conversation and space to connect while watercoloring.
Tuesday night was our costume contest at Large Group. It’s a beautiful thing to be led in prayer by a senior guy dressed as a whoopee cushion.
Our RUFall Swing Dance was a big hit! Lots of new faces and a fun night on the Covenant Presbyterian Church fellowship hall dance floor.
We had two flag football teams make it to the championship games. Both lost, but with grace. This could be our year in soccer though - stay tuned.
